Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying “The decisions that people make quickly are always wrong.” You can give an example or two to illustrate your point of view. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
Not all the decisions made quickly are wrong
From my perspective, the rush decision may be wrong if it was made when we were in great anger or when wer were tempted by something. However, some decisions can be made instantly. We make decisions every day, and not every decision is so important that it needs our careful thought. For example, many white-collar workers go out to have lunch every weekday. Obviously, that simple decision does not need ten minutes to consider gains and losses. In some situations, there is not so much time for us to think twice, because the chance may be lost in any minute when we hesitate. For example, someone fells into the river and is drowning. In this case, most people will try to rescue the drowning one without delay. Another case is that sometimes we need to make quick decisions to grasp opportunities. As can be seen, the decisions that people make quickly are not always wrong, especially when we should follow our instinct in certain situations, such as emergencies and once in a lifetime chances.

The seats in our school reading-room are not enough for all the students. Many people get there very early to "seize" a seat every day. So do I. One day a "special" thing happened to me. And I learned a lesson that I shall never forget.
It happened on a Wednesday morning last January, just before our final examation. I got to the reading-room very early to occupy a seat. I put a book on the desk and then went to have breakfast. But when I hurried back into the reading-room, I found someone was sitting on the seat which I had occupied in advance. I ran to him immediatly and shouted at him angrily, "Go away. It's my seat." Everyone raised their eyes and stared at me unfriendly. My face turned red and I felt ashamed of myself. I took my book and fled helter-skelter before so many eyes.
I dared not go to the reading-room for several days. I learned a lesson in the reading-room. Since then I have been keeping the lesson in mind: To be polite to everyone.

Student Investors ID the Stock Market
China’s stock market is luring students looking to sec how their textbook teachings fare in real life. While there arc no concrete data on the student- investor, business professors say tbe market boom has boosted the number of students looking to play around with stocks. They invest in the stock market with money from parents and sometimes with amount equal to several times their annual tuition.
Some people are alarmed at the trend. As investing in the stock market involves many risks, they say, college students are very likely to lose, which may put students' &miiy assets at risk. However, some are supportive. As more and more students become sbarebolders, they will help raise tie general quality of shareholders and there will be more rational stock buyers in securities market, which is actually a good thing.
In my view, college students may give stock investment a try if possible. Stock investment may be a way to make fast money and help finance students* schooling. Even if the students are likely to lose in the stock market, it may still bring about valuable investment experience — they can、learn if they don’t tiy.

With the rapid development of the society, more and more people begin to realize the importance of innovation. Such as, a lot of new things appear in our daily life.
There are many reasons for the importance of innovation. Firstly, for a person, if he has the spirit of innovation, he can be not satisfied with his current situation, and keep going until he succeeds. Secondly, for a team, creation can increase its efficiency. Thirdly, this kind of spirit can help the society develop faster and faster, so that there are more and more new things which can enrich our daily life.
Thus, it is very important for us to encourage innovation. On the one hand, we students should learn to be innovative in our daily life. On the other hand, governments could set some laws and regulations to encourage innovation. Only in this way can we have a better life.

On the Senior Empty Nests
For most senior students in universities, the last academic year has nothing to do with academics. To the frustration of professors, few courses are attended by students. And dorms are almost vacant with few lodgers. This kind of phenomenon, which has been called “Senior Empty Nests”, is common among universities of China.
Where have those absent senior students gone? Some lucky dogs have gone to their new jobs while the majority are still striving to get a job or engaging in their internship outside of the campus. The severe employment pressure has pushed senior students into employment market earlier. The anxiety of getting a job before graduation disturbs the restless mind of every student, which leads to skipping school of most students.
In my view, with senior students leaving campus earlier, their time of education has been reduced, which puts them in a disadvantaged position in the employment market. Students should start job hunting after finishing the courses of the last academic year. At the same time, the universities should provide career education for senior students.

The seats in our school reading-room are not enough for all the students. In order to "seize" a seat, I go there very early every morning. Just because of this, a special story happened to me one day. I learned a lesson in the reading-room that I will remember all my life.
It took place on a Monday morning in October. After occupying a seat in the reading-room, I went to fetch a bottle of boiled water. When I returned to the reading-room, I found that a girl student was sitting on my seat. Immediately I ran to her and shouted at her angrily, "Why have you taken my seat? Go away.!" Everybody in the reading-room looked up from their books at me unfriendly. At once I brushed with shame. I rushed out of the reading-room with my book. I can never forget those "eyes".
This is the lesson I've learned in the reading-room: I shall respect other people.

But perhaps we should look at both sides of the coin before arriving hasty conclusions.
account for, add up to, back up, break down, break away from, bleak out, break up, break in, break off, bring about, “bring up, bring out, bring down, build up, call off, call for, call on, carry out, check in, clear up, come off, come around, count on, cut down, cut off, do away with, dwell on, fall back on, fall out, get over, get out of, get at, give out, give up, give off, hang on, hold back, keep back from, keep up with, lay off, lay down, live up to, look into , look forward to, look over, make up, make out, pass away, put up with ,role out, run out of, set about, take over, take up, take in, take off, turn up, turn out, work out等。
One is surely justitied in his concern for the money and resources that they are poured into the space exploration.
However.a second person thougt that this was more a question of civilized behavior as good manners.
Instead,this other person told us a story,it he said was quite well known.
A well—man. nered person…walks down a street he or she is constantly un-aware of others.
A smile is the shortest distance between two people
Mark Twain once said, The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter.A smile will unconsciously pull short distance between hearts, which is the charm of a smile. So never stop smiling, even when you are sad, for someone might fall in love with your smile.
Undoubtedly, it is smile that keeps us continually shortening the distance among people. When you fall down, a smile from others will bring you the power to stand up. Besides, smile is a name card which will make the people around you feel comfortable and pave the way for you to make good friends. When you feel disappointed with the life and get heartbroken with the love, just smile, its a good medicine for your hurt soul. Were there no smile, never would we taste a happy and healthy life.
Consequently, from what has been discussed above, it can be safely concluded that a smile is beneficial for us bridge gaps of social interaction and sweep disorders of human communication.

A number of individuals favor this ranking because of its advantages. To begin with, without these ranks, it is impossible for people to make a direct comparison between different colleges. In addition, it is this ranking that enables China to build up a system of assessing higher education and to enhance its overall development.Even so, others hold the opposite view that university ranking carries some doubts.First, ranking all universities means a great amount of time and human resources; however, the quality and authority is not as satisfactory as expected.Second, what worries many experts is that some colleges may focus too much eyesight on ranking itself, ignoring the needs of students.By and large, the advantage derived the annual university ranking far outweigh the disadvantages.
An effective ranking will bring colleges motivation, arouses their enthusiasm to strive, and helps China to enhance higher education. However, it is advisable for this ranking to be scientific, practical and impartial.
