Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic A Smile Is the Best Language. You should write at least 150 words, and base your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below:
1)有些人不喜歡微笑,或者輕視微笑的作用;
A Smile Is the Best Language
It has long been accepted that a smile is the best language. The truth of a smile is that it is like a seed that can grow into a towering tree and at long last it has deep and profound effect on people’s lives.
At the moment we get in trouble, get misunderstood or give thanks,a smile is more helpful than any other expression. Many daily incidents can probe the strength/power of smile. To begin with,we should always smile to ourselves,so as to keep optimistic when in difficulty. At the same time, smiling to others is necessary, too.Sometimes,we may face misunderstandings that are hard to explain clearly simply bu words. Then, a smile can show them the genuine sincerity to win their trust.Besides, smile is a worldwide language to say “thanks” and can bring pleasant feelings to others.
In a word, perhaps the best example of universally understood body language is smile. As the old saying goes, smile to others, and sooner or later they will smile back to you.
The animal is the friend of our human beings. We live in the same earth. Animals and human beings can’t be separated from each other. But some animals are getting less and less. So it’s necessary for us to protect animals, especially wild animals. Some people kill wild animal because of money. It’s illegal. Beside, because of the development of society, human needs more space to live in, so we explore the forest. Animals have less space to live in. The number of wild animals decreases year by year. It’s high time to take actions to protect wild animals.
Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay on e-learning.Try to imagine what will happen when more and more people study online instead of attending school. You are required to write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
Currently, an increasing numberof people begin to use Internet to take courses and acquire knowledge. Onlinelearning is booming all around the world. It is providing many options withlearners in terms of time, locations, subjects and costs.
Online learning greatly promoteslearners’ studying efficiency and teachers’ productivity. As a result, updatedknowledge will reach those students in isolated areas at a higher speed, whichcan make many of them keep pace with the time. Additionally, students candecide their learning location and time much more freely. Notably, because transportationand accommodation will not trouble E-learners, learning cost will be largelylowered. These advantages might decrease the number of people who routinelyattend school learning.
From my point of view, personal interactionbetween teachers and students in schools is irreplaceable. It is a good ideathat we combine E-learning and attending school together. Learning is not asimple multiple-choice question but an important issue that needs your tryingand involvement.

For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay based on the picture below. You should focus on the importance of being cautious about online comments and speech in the new media age. You are required to write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
Being Cautious about Online Comments and Speech
As is shown in the carton, people are often aroused with the feeling of anger or sympathy in this new media age when abundant information just swells within sight. The picture vividly reveals that modern people tend to receive and believe what they get from the media and then react to it directly.
From my perspective, one should think twice upon receiving online comments and speech. To start with, online information could be ungrounded and fictitious just to impress and catch attention. For instance, rumors go around that a celebrity couple is expecting a baby. What's more, reports online could be one-sided, that is to say, they are providing incomplete information and seeing things from one angle. In this way, it is hard for the audience to judge right from wrong, especially when the public opinions lean towards one side.
As an old saying goes, "Better don't read if you believe everything you read." Likewise, one should make his own judgement based on real facts and experience in the era of information explosion.
