As is depicted in the ridiculous drawing, a fat woman is threatening her husband with a knife on her neck that if she cannot change her appearance into the lady with an amazing look and body, she will kill herself.

The picture obvious sets us into thinking what on earth beauty is. From my perspective, nature is beauty, and beauty lies in a person's kindness, friendliness and sense of responsibility. We should not blame our failure to our look. Firstly, one's appearance is the God's blessing, and has been one part of our body. After plastic surgery, some women do look amazing, but these people tend to be vulnerable to many potential diseases. The more serious effect is that they risk their own life. Secondly, the advocating for such a practice will mislead people in the judgment of beauty. The concept of beauty is quite rich in its content. It should include many virtues like honesty, diligence, and so on, which should be the real mainstream of our spiritual life. The practice and some contests about man-made beauty will confuse those who are to develop correct concept of beauty.

Concerning the above possible harms the practice may bring about, we are strongly against it and advocate seeking true and natural beauty. Besides, people, especially women, should lay more attention on the cultivation of their inner hearts. The inner beauty outweighs the outside beauty in the long run.

Emerging from the cartoon is an eye-catching scene that a man is separated into two parts, with one part representing the living standard, which is in a leading position and very rich, while the other part the moral stand, which is, on the contrary, very poor and is left far behind. Simple as it is, the symbolic meaning revealed is profound and thought-provoking.

We are supposed to place our attention on, instead of its funnyappearance, the implied meaning of the cartoon: improve as the living standard of some people may, they do not have their corresponding moral standard match at the same time, which is getting increasingly serious in our modern society. What can account for this undesirable situation? For one thing, they are lack of awareness of being responsible for the society, for they consider profit as their main and only target. For another reason, the relevant laws and regulations to punish those who go against moral standard are still far from perfect yet.

From what has been discussed above, it's safe for me to conclude that it is urgent to take some immediate and effective measures. What I recommend is that we citizens should strengthen self-cultivation, to enhance the awareness of moral establishment. In addition, the mass media should shoulder the responsibility to assure all the people the necessity of improving economic situation and moral standard at the same time. Only in these ways can this kind of trend will be curbed in the near future.

Emerging from the cartoon is an eye-catching scene that the parents are willing to have a second child, while their only child do not agree because of his worry that he doesn't want to have another child, evenhis own sibling, share toys with him. Simple as it is, the symbolic meaning revealed is profound and thought-provoking.

We are supposed to place our attention on, instead of its funnyappearance, the implied meaning of the cartoon: as the overall second-child policy expandsthroughout China, some only children are so selfish that they cannot accept the second child in their family. What can account for this undesirable situation? For one thing, they, as the only child at home all the time, have no awareness of sharing what they like with others due to the fact that all the family members give their love to the only child. As a result, when faced with the problem of whether they are willing to have a sibling, their first response is to refuse it. For another reason, some couples are eager to have a second child as soon as possible, which makes them neglect to communicate with their only child to let them realize the advantage of having a sibling companion in their childhood.

From what has been discussed above, it's safe for me to conclude that it is urgent to take some immediate and effective measures. What I recommend is that parents should let child know the importance of sharing with others, which is beneficial for them in future life. In addition, it's better for parents to have more communication with their only child once they want to have a second child.

Success is always described by the old as something relevant to patience. In the picture, a man sits with a dozen of clocks around him. Beside him is the subtitle saying that "success means persisting five minutes more than others". We can infer from it that the man sets these many clocks just to remind himself that he should never give up.

It is very true that success derives from persistence, for which there are several reasons. Firstly, no accomplishment can be achieved in a short time, and success asks for continuous industrious work and efforts. Secondly, when one is able to insist in stepping towards achievement, he must believe what he dedicates to. This belief is the source of persistence that paves the way to success. Thirdly, just as the saying goes,"Rome was not built in one day".

To conclude, I would like to borrow another ancient saying that "he laughs best who laughs last". Laughing symbolizes the confidence for success, and confidence always yields patience and insistence. Hence, I firmly believe that if everybody applies what the picture conveys into actual practice, they will surely reap alot.

Unfolded in the elaborately-painted set of drawings is a soul-stirring scene: delivering a rice dumpling labeled as "festival of the intangible cultural heritage" to a youngster, a greybeard dressed in traditional costume emphasizes: "traditions are supposed to be inherited and advocated from one generation to another."

Apparently, what the cartoonist attempts to emphasize is the inheritance of traditional culture. Like tangible cultural heritages such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, intangible cultural heritages like Peking Opera and celebration of traditional festivals are equally crucial. As a country consisting of a great diversity of ethnic groups and with time-honored history and civilization, China abounds in intangible cultural heritages. Cultural heritages connect modern people with the historical past, allowing them to acquire a cultural and historical identity. Without cultural heritages, we would be rendered absolutely rootless and we would find it hard to cope with challenges at present and in the future.

However, the modernization process poses mounting threats to intangible heritages. It is also pathetic to see elderly people in possession of such legacies pass away without transmitting them to the younger generation. Confrontedwith those challenges, we should both preserve and rejuvenate our ancestral heritages so that we can help contribute to the cultural diversity of the world and return to our spiritual homeland in this age of impersonal science and technology.

As is vividly depicted by the drawing above, the job-hunting girl refuses a service post without any hesitation, complaining that she will never take a job of serving others. At the same time she is wondering why finding a promising job is so difficult in modern society.

This phenomenon can easily be found anywhere in our daily life, especially on campus. On the one hand, many job-seekers are reluctant to take jobs that they consider to be humble and trivial, because they have great ambitions and they only want to ride on the peak of success. On the other hand, wanting to gain more but pay less, both the jobless and graduating students aspire to seek a job that is well-paid, relaxed and comfortable. We should not look down upon service industry, the third industry, because it does provide us with many employment opportunities and positions.

Therefore, it is high time that we took effective measures to improve the current situation. For one thing, an education campaign should be launched to popularize the idea that "the longest journey starts with a single step" and to cultivate a down-to-earth attitude toward life. For another, the tendency of being lazy must be eradicated from the mind of the young. Only in this way can people realize their value of life better and can unemployment rate be reduced and thus can social harmony be achieved.
