　　I hereby pledge that I will devote my life to the cause of education.

　　I will fulfill my full obligation as an educator to continue to improve this public good, to increase human understanding and capacity, and to honor all who work for education and learning. I take these obligations as my own and stand ready and duty-bound to encourage my colleagues to do the same.

　　I will always be mindful of my responsibility to improve the intelligence of my students through the rigorous pursuit of knowledge. I will carry out this commitment unswervingly, even if it is very hard, even if there are external temptations to abstain from this responsibility, even if there are obstacles, like failure, that make it more difficult. I will also work tirelessly to uphold the belief that lifelong learning is encouraged and respected and that all students are treated equally.

　　To faithfully fulfill this professional obligation, I pledge myself to devote myself to the subject matter I teach, to continually improve my educational practice, and to enable the continuous improvement of the students under my instruction. I pledge to seek and support policies that improve the quality of education and teaching and to provide all who love education with every opportunity to help them achieve their best. I am determined to constantly strive to match or exceed the qualities I wish to cultivate, and to uphold and always respect a disciplined, civilized and liberal democratic way of life.

　　I realize that sometimes my efforts may offend those of privilege and position, I realize that I will be opposed by prejudices and defenders of rank, and I realize that I will have to encounter arguments that are designed to frustrate me and deprive me of hope. But I will remain faithful to the conviction that these efforts and the pursuit of purpose have convinced me that it is commensurate with my profession, which is also commensurate with the freedom of the people.

　　In the presence of all of you in this Assembly, I solemnly swear that I will keep this oath.

　　我在此宣誓，我將把我的一生貢獻給教育事業(yè)。

　　我將履行作為教育者的全部義務(wù)，不斷改善這一公共福利事業(yè)，增進人類的理解和能力，并向一切為教育和學習做出努力的作為和人表示敬意。我將這些義務(wù)當作我自己的事，并時刻準備著、責無旁貸地鼓勵我的同事們做到這一點。
