Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.
Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is a growth. If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future holds for me.
When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all starts here. Following I will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job.
Once my teacher said :" you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft." I will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process I will combine learning with doing. If I can achieve this "future", I think that I really grow up. And I deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future.
How to say future? Maybe it’s a nice wish. Lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.

Whatever one does, one should do it with confidence. If one has no confidence, there is little possibility that one would ever achieve anything, especially when one is faced with drawbacks or hardships. This truth seems to be evident. However, in reality we do see a lot of people who complain that they like the ability to do something or that their difficulties are too great to be overcome. For someone, this might be true. But for many others, this only shows that they have lost heart.
Why do people often feel frustrated even though they are capable of doing something? There are, among others, two main reasons. First, these people do have a correct estimate of themselves. Second, they overestimate the difficulties.
It is possible to build up faith in oneself by having the right attitude towards one’s abilities. We should never underestimate one’s abilities. But believe in the proverb: "Where there is a will, there is a way." Confidence is the promise for fulfilling a task successfully.

In 20xx,the World Trade Centre was struck by highjacked planes, and endless people suffered their death in explosions and smoke.
In 20xx,a number of countries in Mid-East were trapped in chaos, and a second of peace has been a luxury for their children.
In 20xx,the conflicts on sovereignty have developed into a serious crisis, and thousands of innocent people are live in the shade of war.
The earth is weeping. Her tears drop for the stupidities of those people, those barbarian who are ignorant of the common and permenant pursuit of human races-------the invaluable peace! Peace, this holy, sacred and beautiful word, has occupied my mind for thousands of times; I have a dream!
I have a dream that the scene where desperate people are bleeding, crying and dying,can be replaced by a spot in which healthy people are smiling, singing and dancing;
I have a dream that the whole world,from Paris to Tripoli, from New York to Terheran,everybody will talk to others with friendship and sincerity rather than hatred and rudeness;
I have a dream that all discrimination and prejudice will be abandoned, and people from every continent and every country can join their hands in harmony and happiness, regardless of the colors of skin, status, sex and properties.
I’m looking forward to this day, a day when hunger and bloody clash will no longer be a threat to those naive and lily-white children; a day when women will not experience injustice and abuse; a day when families won’t be broken by accidents and wars——and I sincerely hope, and firmly convinced that this day will eventually arrive.

Good afternoon, dear teachers. I’m very glad to be here to have a speech. The topic of my speech is.
As far as I’m concerned, I’m a sheer amateur of sports, being fascinated by swimming, running, mountaineering and so on. I couldn’t agree with these perspectives from people who dislike sports, because you’ll feel greatly relieved after being drenched in sweats by sports. Sports can also help you forget your worries and stress, feeling unprecedented relaxed.
As is known, a healthy body is extraordinarily crucial. Moreover physical exercise undeniably exerts a far-reaching influence on keeping ourselves fit. In taking part in out-door sports, we are closer to nature and can take in fresh air. The beauty of nature will keep us clear-headed, which is essential to our health. Besides sports can stimulate the circulation of blood and help to excrete the wastes in the body. It also can work up our appetite and activate or digestion. In a word, sports can give rise to a strong body for us.
In contemporary society, with the increasing focus on health, people in ever expanding numbers join the trend of doing sports and begin to accept more and more sorts of fashionable sports, ranging from hiking to diving. From this phenomenon, we can see not only do sports play a significant role in health, but also lay a solid foundation for human beings’ spirit.
Taking hiking for example, it’s a blend of man and nature completely way to travel, and also a kind of sports that not only need your physical strength, but also need the patience, perseverance and persistence. At the beginning of climbing a mountain, you’ll be exciting with the fantastic scene of mountain, river and water. However, after a half way, you’ll fell so tired and exhausted. The climbing road becomes more and more steep. At that time, it requires your persistence and determination to conquer arduous situations. It just likes the life, the closer the success is, the more difficulties you must endure.
From my aspects, the enchantment of sports is that it’s a challenge for the limit of your body --- both a sort of healthy and popular life style and an reflection of optimistic and positive attitude. Just like nowadays, the development of Olympic games is harmonious and prosperous, for the reason that it’s not only for shaping human’s body, but more for pursuing a king of spirit --- faster, higher, stronger.
This is my speech. Thank you.

We, having been living in one corner of the world for several decades, must ask ourselves what is the level of our national strength and our civilization. This is the final awakening of which I speak. To put it another way, if we open our eyes and take a hard look at the situation within our country and abroad, what place does our country and our people occupy, and what actions should we take?... Our task today can be said to be the intense combat between the old and the modern currents of thought. Those with shallow views all expect this to be our final awakening, without understanding how difficult it is to put into practice... There is no difference between the shameful disgrace of submissiveneof men of ancient times hoping that sage rulers and wise ministers will practice benevolent government and present day men hoping that dignitaries and influential elders will build a constitutional republic. Why should I reject the desires of dignitaries and influential elders, who are after all a part of the people, to build a constitutional republic? Only because a constitutional republic cannot be conferred by the government, cannot be maintained by one party or one group, and certainly cannot be carried on the backs of a few dignitaries and influential elders. A constitutional republic which does not derive from the conscious realization and voluntary action of the majority of the people is a bogus republic and bogus constitutionalism. It is political window-dressing, in no way like the republican constitutionalism of the countries of Europe and America, because there has been no change in the thought or the character of the majority of the people, and the majority of the people have no personal feeling of direct material interest.

ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i‘m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is ―youth‖. i hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it. first i want to ask you some questions: 1、do you know what is youth? 2、how do you master your youth? youth youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ;
it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ;
it is the freshness of the deep springs of life . youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals. years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .
whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ?s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what‘s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there‘s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young . when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80. thank you!

Good morning ladies and gentlemen:
The title of my speech today is "The Doors that Are Open to Us ".
The other day my aunt paid me a visit. She was overjoyed. "I got the highest mark in the mid-term examination!" she said. Dont be surprised! My aunt is indeed a student; to be exact, a college student at the age of 45.
Last year, she put aside her private business and signed up for a one-year, full-time management course in a college. "This was the wisest decision I have ever made," she said proudly like a teenage girl. To her, college is always a right place to pick up new ideas, and new ideas always make her feel young.
"Compared with the late 70s," she says, "now college students have many doors." My aunt cannot help but recall her first college experience in 1978 when college doors began to be re-opened after the Cultural Revolution. She was assigned to study engineering despite her desire to study Chinese literature, and a few years later, the government sent her to work in a TV factory.
I was shocked when she first told me how she (had) had no choice in her major and job. Look at us today! So many doors are open to us! I believe there have never been such abundant opportunities for self-development as we have today. And my aunt told me that we should reach our goals by grasping all these opportunities.
The first door I see is the opportunity to study different kinds of subjects that interest us. My aunt said she was happy to study management, but she was also happy that she could attend lectures on ancient Chinese poetry and on Shakespearean drama. As for myself, I am an English major, but I may also go to lectures on history. To me, if college education in the past emphasized specialization, now, it emphasizes free and well-rounded development of each individual. So all the fine achievements of human civilization are open to us.
The second door is the door to the outside world. Learning goes beyond classrooms and national boundaries. My aunt remembers her previous college days as monotonous and even calls her generation "frogs in a well." But today, as the world becomes a global village, it is important that our neighbors and we be open-minded to learn with and from each other. I have many fellow international classmates, and I am applying to an exchange program with a university abroad. As for my aunt, she is planning to get an MBA degree in the United Kingdom where her daughter, my cousin, is now doing her masters degree in biochemistry. We are now taking the opportunity to study overseas, and when we come back, well put to use what we have learnt abroad.
The third door is the door to lifelong learning. As new ideas appear all the time, we always need to acquire new knowledge, regardless of our age. Naturally, my aunt herself is the best example. Many of my aunts contemporaries say that she is amazingly up-to-date for a middle-aged woman. She simply responds, "Age doesnt matter. What matters is your attitude. You may think its strange that I am still going to college, but I dont think Im too old to learn." Yes, she is right. Since the government removed the age limit for college admissions in 20xx, there are already some untraditional students, sitting with us in the same classrooms. Like these people, my aunt is old but she is very young in spirit. With her incredible energy and determination, she embodies both tradition and modernity.
The doors open to us also pose challenges. For instance, we are faced with the challenge of a balanced learning, the challenge of preserving our fine tradition while learning from the West, and the challenge of learning continuously while carrying heavy responsibilities to our work and family. So, each door is a test of our courage, ability and judgment, but with the support of my teachers, parents, friends and my aunt, I believe I can meet the challenge head on. When I reach my aunts age, I can be proud to say that I have walked through dozens of doors and will, in the remainder of my life, walk through many more. Possibly I will go back to college, too.
Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.

We often hear people say, "Never give up." These can be encouraging words and words of determination. A personwho believes in them will keep trying to reach his goal no matter how manytimes he fails. In my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is animportant one to have. Therefore, I believe that we should never give up.
One reason is that if we give up too easily, we will rarely achieveanything. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at somethingnew, so we should not feel discouraged and should try again. Besides, if wealways give up when we fail, we will not be able to develop new skills and growas people. Another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from ourmistakes only if we make a new effort. If we do not try again, the lesson wehave learned is wasted. Finally, we should never give up because as we work toreach our goals, we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeedin other areas of our lives. If we never challenge ourselves, we will begin todoubt our abilities.
In short, it is important that wedo not give up when working for our goals. Whether we succeed in the end ornot, we will learn something, and what we learn will help us to become better, more confident people. Furthermore, if we give up, we have non chance ofattaining our goals, but if we keep trying, there is always a chance that wewill succeed one day.
Thank you !

Hello, everyone! I am Chai Yun from Class 11, Grade 7. Today I am going to tell you a story called “Two heads are better than one”. I am sure you can learn something from it. One day, an elephant met a monkey. “Look, how big and strong I am!” the elephant said. “I can break a tree, can you break a tree?” “Look, how quickly I can run and climb!”said the monkey.“Can you climb a tree?”
The elephant was very proud because he was so strong, and the monkey was also proud because he was so quick. But which is better, to be strong or to be quick? They didn’t know.
“The rabbit will tell us. Let’s go to her .”said the monkey. And they went to the rabbit and said.“Tell us what you think about it. Which is better, to be strong or to be quick?” The rabbit said to them, “Do what I tell you, and then you will see which is better. Do you see that big apple tree across the river? Go and pick some apples for me.”So the elephant and the monkey went to the river. The river was so deep and the monkey was afraid to swim.
“I can carry you ,” said the elephant. “I’m big and strong so I’m not afraid to swim.” The monkey sat down the elephant’s back, and they swam to the bank. Elephant tried to pick apples from it, but the apples were too high, so he can’t reach them.
“I can climb up the tree.”said the monkey. He climbed up the tree and threw some apples to the ground. The elephant picked them up. Then they gave some apples to the rabbit. “Now tell us.”they said.“Which is better, to be strong or to be quick?”
“How can I tell you which is better?”answered the rabbit.“You, elephant, you, monkey, you couldn’t get the apples without anyone. Everybody has his own good points. But two heads are better than one.”
The story is over. Do you like it? That’s all. Thank you.

My dear friends, welcome to our school! My school is very beautiful! It has a big playground. We can play and do some sports there. Near the playground, there is a garden. Many trees and flowers are there. So the air is very clean and we can hear birds singing in the trees. It is so wonderful. Our teaching buildings are around the garden and look like our teachers’ arms to welcome us. We can draw pictures in the art room on the first floor and read story-books in the library on the second floor. My classroom is on the third floor. It is clean and bright. We like to study in it. The computer room is on the fifth floor. We can sing and dance in the music room on the sixth floor. What a lot of fun! We can have lunch in the canteen near Defang Teaching Building.
In our school, our teachers work hard and help us with our lessons. We study hard and listen to teachers carefully. After class, our teachers play with us and we feel very happy.
Our school is so nice and our teachers are so kind. We all love them. Dear friends, do you like them?

Beauty usually refers to what appeals to the eye. A nice and well built girl is regarded as beautiful. A bunch of vigorous flowers are also considered as beautiful. A splendid waterfall coming down from a mountain is as well looked on as beautiful.
Beauty also refers to what appeals to the mind. The virtue of the Chinese nation-industry and bravery are taken as beautiful, because it helped to produce such a magnificent culture in the world. Einsteins theory of relativity is also perceived as beautiful, for it explains many natural phenomena so perfectly.
Beauty is around us. If you keep an eye or pay some attention, it is never difficult to find something beautiful somewhere about you. Wonderful natural spots, historical relics, fine arts, splendid buildings, and kind people are just a few inches away..com
thank you.

Do you have a teacher? You may say“Yes.” Everyone has his teacher. You have, he has, and so do I. In my mind I'll never forget her-my first English teacher. We have many teachers in our school, some of them old and some of them young. Among these teachers, there is one whom I particularly like and respect.she is Mis. Wu, and young woman of 28.she seems to know everything and she teaches well. She is not tall, but she has two big eyes. Her voice sounds beautiful and she speaks English very well.
She is very humorous, and she always teaches us in an interesting way. Sometimes she plays with us. She's very kind. She likes singing and collecting posters. She is good at playing the piano. In the evening, she always sits in front of the piano and plays nice music. She is good at dancing, too. Sometimes she teaches us dancing. She likes dogs very much because the dog is very friendly and cute. Her favourite color is blue. Because blue is the color of the sky and the sea. This is my favourite teacher. Our classmates all like her very much. Oh, I forgot to tell you that she teaches at Yiyuan high School.

the thinking man's choice contact is made. nerves order the heart to pump faster. adrenalin surges to action. nerves constrict the blood vessels in the extremities of the body. skin temperature drops. fingers and toes grow colder. blood pressure jump. an alcoholic or a dope addict in the first stages of a "cure"? a man being catapulted into outer space? no! these effects stem from smoking just one cigarette.
the united states public health service is issuing continual warnings to smokers. if they abstain completely from smoking, their chances of acquiring lung cancer will be one in 275. their chances of dying of lung cancer will be one in 10 if they become heavy
smokers─two or more packs a day. lung cancer is fatal in 95 per cent of all cases.
but in spite of glaring evidence and frequent warnings, the public is smoking more and more. the department of agriculture
estimates that this year's consumption of cigarettes will reach 180 packs per person fifteen years of age and over. how many cigarettes does this mean per person?─3600.
why is smoking such an important problem? because smoking is not a mere habit, as so many think it is. no, it is more serious than that. a habit can be broken easily enough, but an addiction cannot. smokers lapse into helplessness! daniel schubert, of the university of chicago, quizzed 226 students at a large northwestern college about their smoking habits─why they started, what satisfaction they got, and if they wanted to stop. according to schubert, they wanted to quit smoking; but they couldn't.
if one is addicted to cigarettes, he is dependent upon them physically, as well as psychologically. what is it, if it is not addiction, that motivates a man to go out in sub-zero weather to buy a pack of cigarettes? if necessary, he will drive ten miles late at night to find an open drugstore. what is it, if it is not addiction, that makes a moocher of an otherwise charming young girl?
i was talking to a professor not long ago who had just quit smoking. he told me what most of you already know─that once the habit is started, watch out! it is next to impossible to stop smoking. i asked him how he ever managed to quit when he had been smoking over a pack a day for ten years. listen to his story.
"well, i cut down to one-half pack a day for the first week. i was touchy most of the time. the slightest irritation made my nerves jangle and my head want to explode. the next week i smoked five cigarettes a day and had an even worse case of nerves. then the following week i chewed gum and sucked on mints, candy, and pipe stems. frankly, i wasn't sure from one moment to the next if i could keep going. somehow i made it."
many of you know what this professor is talking about; you, too, have tried to break the addiction, but have failed. in the few
minutes we have here today we can analyze the motives at the root of our smoking problem.
perhaps we can assure those who do not smoke, (and i am happy i can still include myself in this group), to nip in the bud the urges of those who are about to begin smoking, and to encourage to cut-down those who are already confirmed smokers.

i wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team. thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on. it’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: 2008 olympic games. now, the dream came true. as an athlete of china, i’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland.
i’m so proud of being one of the best players in the world. but could you believe i had been a lazy girl when i was in junior high. i’m not kidding! at that time, running was my last favorite. i really don’t know how to describe the first time i was on the track. it was horrible. when i started to run, i was simply out of breath. and while i touched the finishing line, i really didn’t know if i was still alive. it’s so funny, huh? but it’s true, i did.
well, something happened and changed the situation. we won the right of holding the olympic games in 2008. after that, sports became a kind of game in campus. and there are many sports clubs in school. one day someone asked me:“are you gonna try one of those?”first i felt so wired.
“try to get into sports clubs? are you kidding?” i said. and she goes: “why not?? it’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” so i did tried one and i was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering. that is a fantastic sport! you need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass. it’s wasn’t popular in china at first. but when we heard it might become a new event in 2008, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first champion of orienteering in the world. when we practiced, there were a lot of troubles. you know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart. in some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems. and we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower. so we can run faster, go higher and be stronger. that is what we say—olympic spirit.
now the dream came true. i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games. it’s the olympic games that make us together. we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports. we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.

二 Good morning boys and girls, It’s a great pleasure for me/It’s nice to to give you a speech here. Nowadays mastering a foreign language is very helpful in our daily life. I feel it a great honor to share my opinions about English learning with you. Firstly, I believe it is useful to remember as many sentence patterns as possible. Secondly, we should try our best to read more English newspapers and magazines after class, which helps to improve our reading abilities. Besides, TV programmes are of great help to us. Last but not least, it’s necessary for us to communicate with foreign friends as much as possible and increase our awareness of foreign cultures, which can also help to improve our English. However, sometimes I find it difficult to pronounce some English words correctly. I would appreciate it if someone could give me some advice. Thanks for your attention.

A young idler,an old beggar almost everyone knows the famous chinese saying:a young idler,an old beggar. throughout history,we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true. it goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life, during which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. it takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments.
in addition, one is less likely to be under great pressure from career, family and health problems when young. therefore,a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life. of course,we all know:no pains,no gains. if we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us,it is impossible to achieve any goals. as students,we should now try our best to learn all the subjects well so that we can be well prepared for the challenges that we will face in the future.

i'll tell you an experience of myself happened last week. last thursday our school was tackling something about woking fou study. i wanted to have a try even though i knew the salary was so low and i had little chance, because the students who had the certificate were always thought to have priority to get the job.
fortunately i was called at noon and a teacher said to me that she wanted me to work for her and asked if i could change my mind. at that moment i was so excited that immediately i accepted her idea. but later on,she found me that i'm not a student,so i had little chance and suggest me to get one. then an idea occurred to me that i could call my father and ask him to send me the letter. at the same time i was told that i was admitted to the job and don't need the certificate. that time i forgot to remind my father, until the next day he called me that he had posted it and it would arrive in just one day.
at that moment i was moved, and even moved into tears, because i knew my father was injured not long before, the process of helping me with the affairs was not so convenient for him. but he tried his best to help me. sometimes we may complain about unsatisfying things around us,and blame them on our parents, sometimes they'll be angry with us, and sometimes we can't quite understand what they are thinking about. but on balance, almost every parent is selfless to his or her child. they are ready to offer everything to us when we are in bad situation. we used to sharing sorrow with them, but do not forget to share our happiness with them, perhaps they will be much happier than we are. so from now on, let's care more about our parents and do not leave pity to them. that's what i want to tell you today. thank you!

All over the world people listen to classical music.Classical music is difficult to describe. It means different things to different people.
Some famous classical composers were Bach,Vivaldi,Haydn and Mozart. In their music, they did not tell a story or show strong emotions. They wanted to make beautiful and interesting music with lovely sounds.
Then composers started to express ideas. They told stories about love and war. They also wrote about religion.Sometimes they composed music for holidays.Through their music composers showed strong emotions. Some of these composers were Beethoven,Schumann,Chopin,Mendelssohn,Wagner and Tchaikovsky.
Classical music has been popular for hundreds of years.Bach wrote about 300 years ago.Beethoven wrote about 200 years ago.And Tchaikovsky wrote over 100 years ago.
Sometimes people close their eyes while listening to classical music. It is difficult to understand sometimes. When they close their eyes they have to think about the music.

Life is a process of growing up. Saying goodbye to childhood, we step into another important time of life in the pace of young, facing new situations, dealing with different problems.....
However, who can really say what the youth is ? A period of time? A belief? An attitude to life? Or anything else? actually, everyone has his ownunderstanding of young, it is a period of time of beauty and wonders, only after you have experienced the sour , sweet ,bitter and salty, can you really become a person of significance.
Just like A famous poet said ‘ youth is a lovely song ,where nothing is impossible ,youth is a meaningful book, you’ll be never bored of it ;youth is a rapid river ,it keeps on flowing day and night ;youth is a cup of tea ,it shows you different kinds of tastes in your life. ’
As youth is so precious, of course, we must treasure it .Don’t let the limited time pass by, grasping the young will means a better time is waiting for you in the near future.
So,It’s necessary for us to prepare ourselves well for the future to come. having a view on those great men in the history of hunman being, they all made full use of their youth time to do things that are useful to society, to the whole mankind, and as a consequence ,they are remembered by later generations, admired by everyone. so do something in the time of young, although you may not get achievements as these greatmen did ,though not for the whole world, just for youeself, for those around!
So, what should we do when we are young? Here,I’ll point out some tips to help equip ourselves.
First of all, think of what you’d like to be some day. A teacher ? A doctor ? A writer? Don’t afraid of dreaming of big and great .Since you are young , you can dream of doing anything and becoming anyone in the future.
What’s more , never ignore the power of knowledge. Read more books and travel around. For one thing, it can increase your knowledge, for another, it’ll broaden your horizon.
Last but not the least , stick to your dream. It easier said than done. After all, future is not all roses. young is just like blooming flowers, they are so beautiful when blooming, which make people feel happy, but with time passing by, after they withers ,most people think they are ugly. and so it is the same with young, we are enthusiastic when we are young, then we may lose our passion when getting older and older. So we should have enough courage and determination to overcome all the difficulties in struggling on the road.
I firmly believe one sentence that‘If you think you can, of course you can!’Just believe we can make it! Keep on walking towards our dream. Flying youth , master our future. From today, from now on , are you Ready ?
That’s all. Thank you so much for your attention !
